Setup Menu Options
*WARNING: Changing settings in the SETUP can damage the HVAC system. These settings
should only be performed by a licensed HVAC installer.
Password
Two levels of protection are programmed in this thermostat: USER and INSTALLER. Both
passwords timeout 20 minutes after the last button or scroll wheel touch, unless you set the
TIMEOUT ON EXIT setting to ON, in which case the passwords will timeout immediately on exit.
SCROLL to change either USER or INSTALLER password.
SCROLL through the letters to change the password, or use the
blank letter to set the password to a blank. You can also force the
password to time out upon exiting.
When the USER password setting is ON (default is OFF), a valid user password is required,
otherwise the thermostat will only allow a temporary hold of one hour, and the MENU list is
unavailable .
The INSTALLER password limits access from critical thermostat setting which include:

Equipment Type

Control
•
Setpoint Range
•
Equipment Settings
•
Reset
If the HVAC and Vantage installers along with the System Owner agree that no one should have
access to the above settings, it is recommended that the INSTALLER password be changed and
kept private. The default INSTALLER password is INST.
