4.0 USING THE PROGRAM
The users can now use the program to create test plans, run tests, and retrieve test records stored in the
ATRT-03 memory. Each of the menu options and sub options will be described in the following
sections.
4.1 Calculator
The “Calculator” option is used to quickly calculate the turns winding ratio of a transformer. To access
the calculator, select the calculator option of the “File” menu. It displays the calculator dialog box
shown in Figure 7. To use the calculator, type in the H voltage, X voltage and select transformer type.
Click on the “Calculator” button to get the ratio.
The percent option allow the user to calculate turn ratio at a percentage based on the name plate
voltages.
Figure 7. Calculator Menu
NOTE
The above figure shows H name plate voltage of 12,000 V and X name plate voltage of 1200
V. The transformer type is single phase, the turn ratio should be calculated as follows:
Ratio = (V
H
)/(V
x
) = 12000/1200 = 10
Since the “Percent” setting is 80%, the ratio is now changed to:
Ratio = 10 x 80% = 8.00
