The multimeters UNITEST Hexagon 710 and Hexagon
720 are equipped with an acoustic socket control fea-
ture (ABK) [ASC]. When wrongly connecting a test
lead, an acoustical signal is audible and the message
InERR
is displayed.
5.7 Capacity Measurement (Capacitor Test)
Prior to any capacity test, ensure that the capacitor to
be tested is completely discharged. Failure to comply
with this prescription can lead to injuries or instrument
damage. Additionally, charged capacitors falsify the
measurement result.
Charged capacitors must be discharged using a high-
ohmic resistance (not via short-circuit !).
For polarised capacitors, connect the "-" pole to the
multimeter COM socket.
Resistors or semiconductor paths located in parallel
to the capacitor falsify the measurement result.
"
Select the
measurement range using the meas-
urement function selection switch.
"
Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and
the red test lead to the
socket.
"
The capacity test is pre-selected. If the message
[
diod
] is briefly displayed, change to the capacity
test by pressing the
key.
"
Connect test leads to UUT.
"
Read the measurement result displayed.
The multimeter automatically selects the most appro-
priate measurement range (auto-ranging). The
key is pressed for manual measurement range
selection.
