You will need the manual for the safety warnings and precau-
tions, assembly instructions, operating and maintenance procedu-
res, parts lists and circuit diagram. Keep your invoice with this
manual. Make a note of the invoice number on the inside of the front
cover. Keep the manual and invoice in a safe and dry place for future
reference. Please hand this instruction manual to other users or sub-
sequent owners of the product.
Safety warnings and precautions Warnings:
When using the jump-start unit, always take basic safety precau-
tions to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions thoroughly before using this jump-start unit!
1. Wear eye protection.
Always wear eye protection when
working on or near a lead battery.
2. Avoid any contact with battery acid.
If splashed, immediately
wash affected area with clean water. Continue applying water until
medical help arrives.
3. Do not get the jump cables mixed up.
Connect the black cable to
negative earth on the body of the vehicle, and the red cable to the
positive battery terminal.
4. Only use the jump-start unit in well ventilated rooms or outside in
the open air.
Do not attempt to jump-start the vehicle in the vicinity
of inflammable gases or liquids.
5. Do not allow the black and red clamps to touch.
If this happens it
can melt the clamps or other metal objects. Only connect the clamps
to the corresponding terminals.
6. 12 V systems only.
Only use with vehicles and boats with 12 V
electric systems.
7. For emergency use only.
Do not use this jump-start unit instead of
a vehicle battery. Only use it to jump-start your vehicle.
8. Avoid using the jump-start unit on your own without at least one
other person being present.
If an accident happens, a second per-
son can get help.
9. Avoid an electric shock.
Be extremely careful with exposed con-
ductors or busbars. When testing voltages, avoid body contact with
earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, kitchen appliances and
housings.
10. Keep working area tidy.
Untidy working areas increase the risk
of injury.
11. Avoid damaging the jump-start unit.
Only use as specified in this
manual. Damaged devices must not be used.
12. Observe working area conditions.
Do not use the jump-start unit
in damp or wet conditions. Do not expose to rain. Keep work area
well lit.
13. Keep children away.
Children are not allowed in the work area.
Do not let them handle machines, equipment, tools or extension
leads.
14. Keep idle equipment locked away.
When not in use, keep the
jump-start unit in a dry place to prevent rust. Always keep the jump-
start unit locked away and out of reach of children.
15. Do not expose this jump-start unit
to any direct sunlight, direct
heat or moisture.
16. Wear correct clothing.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery
which can be caught up in moving parts. Protective, non-conductive
clothes and non-slip footwear are recommended when working.
Wear protective headgear which can be used to restrain long hair.
17. Do not overreach.
Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
Do not hold onto electrical cables or earth straps. Do not lean over
electrical cables or the vehicle frame.
18. Maintain the jump-start unit with care.
Check the jump-start unit
leads at regular intervals. If damaged, have them repaired only by an
authorized technician.
