6.3 Downloading data from PAM
All Data Downloading is controlled by the PAM Controller, which can be thought of as the
brain of the instrument. First, ensure that the PAM controller is properly connected to the
PC, and that the software is working properly. Then, using the menu and buttons on the
front of the PAM controller, toggle through selections until the Transfer Data to PC appears
on the blue display window of the PAM controller.

Note that PAM pught to have data stored in its memory. If necessary, make some
new measurements and Accept them.

Next, one the PAM controller, select Transfer Data to PC from the PAM Measure
menu of the PAM device.
The traffic lights on the PAM Software will show green and a progress bar will
indicate the transfer of data from PAM to the PC.
Wait until the progress bar disappears and the “Waiting for PAM” message reappears (this
indicates that the data transfer has been completed correctly and must be preceded by a
brief flashing of yellow lights in the traffic light). The traffic lights should now be grey.
Important notes:
The Transfer Data to PC operation, also ensures that the PAM clock and the PC
clock are synchronized. If this is performed when the PAM has no stored data, it will
only synchronize the PAM and PC clocks.
