If the user has set a target rate for the application of the force, the rate will be shown as a
straight blue line, whose slope equals the set target rate. The PAM PC software displays
information provided by the PAM instrument. Let’s say, for example, one wants to change
the slope (blue line).
Remember, the PAM controller is the brain of the instrument and the software is only
reporting information in the brain.
The blue line is the visual representation of the rate of application of force. To change the
slope of the blue line in the software, one must change the rate of application of force. This
rate stored in the PAM controller. To change the slope on the visual display graphic side of
the software, one must return to the PAM controller, toggle through the selected menus to
reach the proper instructions. When the rate of application of force is changed in the internal
memory of the PAM controller, it will automatically change the slope of the blue line which is
displayed in the software.
The waveform is displayed until the user Accepts or Rejects the test, by using the buttons
on the PAM control unit.
In summary in order to run measurement using the PAM Software, follow these steps:
- Install the software (before connecting the PAM to the PC)
- Connect the PAM device to the PC, turn it on and install the drivers
- Run the PAM Software
- Left-click on PAM
- On the PAM control unit, press: “Measure”, “Select This”, “Test”.
The force trace (yellow line) will now appear as soon as you start applying the force.
Press Exit to stop monitoring data.
