Upgrading software 3.0.1 or earlier over UART

The upgrade of software version 3.0.1, or earlier, over the UART interface is done in two steps:

The bootloader is updated.

The application software and softdevice is updated.

Note that the boot loader update requires flow control on the UART.

Upgrading the boot loader

D.1.1

Using s-center

The flashing protocol is implemented in the bootloader. When upgrading the u-connectXpress
software from version 3.0.1 or earlier, the bootloader should be flashed as described in the procedure
below.

Flash the bootloader to the module using

Select the file that contains the bootloader (NINA-B11x-BOOT3.0.1.zip). The file is included in
the u-connectXpress software package for UART:
