Software
NINA-B1 series modules can be used with pre-flashed u-connectXpress software or used as an Open
CPU module in combination with your own application. In Open CPU solutions, applications are
developed in the Arm Mbed, Nordic Software Development Kit (SDK), or Wirepas environments
embedded in the module.
NINA-B1 series software comprises:

SoftDevice S132 Bluetooth® low energy (Bluetooth LE) central and peripheral protocol stack

Optional bootloader

2.1
u-connectXpress software
2.1.1
Standard edition
NINA-B1 series modules are delivered with pre-flashed u-connectXpress software.
The u-connectXpress software enables the use of Bluetooth Low Energy functions that are controlled
over the UART interface with AT commands. The supported features include the u-blox Low Energy
Serial Port Service, GATT server and client, central and peripheral roles, and multidrop connections.

2.1.2
Mesh edition
u-connectXpress is also available as a separate mesh edition that is available for download from the
u-blox website. For more information about Implementing Bluetooth mesh with u-connectXpress,
refer to the application note [21].
