11.6 Automatic sowing depth control Autolevel
The seed coulters sowing depth is explained in section: 9. Adjusting the sowing depth for the seed.
Tume Draco has as standard automatic sowing depth monitoring and automatic adjusting to ensure
that sowing will take place into the determined depth.
After the machine is lowered when leaving the headland, the tractor's valve is moved to holding
position (center position). Follow EPEC controller's icons from time to time.
Seeding depth control is managed by hydraulic pressure.
Autolevel
function prevents sowing too
deep by releasing pressure from coulters automatically. Respectively, if the seeding depth is too low,
coulters icon (picture 47, icon 22) in EPEC monitor raises a bit and its color changes to red. This
means that the driver should increase the coulter weight. Increasing the coulter weight is done by
holding coulter lift/lowering hydraulic valve in lowering position until coulters penetrate deeper into
the soil and the coulter icon’s color changes from red to yellow. After this, return the hydraulic valve
to the center position.
When you reach a headland, raise coulters up normally and leave the hydraulic valve in the
center/holding position.
When leaving the headland for sowing, the hydraulics are repeated as explained above.
Autolevel controls in real time the working depth ratio of the support wheel and the coulter. Coulters
have two monitoring units, picture 68.
