10 ELECTRICAL
SYSTEMS
Your Motorhome is equipped with two electrical
systems operating on separate voltages - a 12 Volt
DC System and a 120 Volt AC System.
The 12 Volt DC System draws its power either
from the engine's charging system while driving or
from the coach batteries when parked. An isolator
solenoid separates the two battery systems to
prevent the engine batteries from being drawn
down and it combines the two battery systems
when either battery system is being changed.
The 120 Volt AC System operates either from
the optional 120 Volt generator installed in
your motorhome or from the outside shoreline
connection.
All 12 volt systems operate through a single power
converter control center to provide power to all 12
volt systems throughout your motorhome.
10.1 120 VOLT AC SYSTEM
When connected to an outside electrical utility such
as that provided by most campgrounds or when run-
ning your 120 volt generator, the charger within the
inverter charges coach battery which provides 12-
volt power. All equipment that normally is powered
through the battery system is then powered through
the converter preventing drain on the batteries.
Some equipment, however, depends entirely on 120
volts from an outside connection or from the optional
120 volt generator. These include:
1. Roof Air Conditioners
2. Refrigerator (when set to 120 volt)
3. Mirrowave oven
4. Ice Maker
5. Central Vacuum
6. All 120 Volt Electrical Outlets
7. Inverter Recepticles
a. TV / VCR
b. Coffee Maker
c. Microwave
d. Dinette
8. Energy Management System
10.1.1 EXTERNAL POWER CORD
(SHORELINE)
Your motorhome is equipped with a 50-amp shoreline
service power cord stored in the compartment on the
left (driver's) side of the motorhome (electric reel
optional). To connect your motorhome to an external
power source plug it into the proper receptacle.
Always ensure some slack is present in the cable.
Do not connect the external power cord until you
have checked with the owner/attendant of the
campground as to proper polarity and grounding.
Improper grounding or reverse polarity can cause
component failure, injury or death.

SHORELINE STORAGE
WARNING
To operate the electric reel manually pull out the cord
as far as needed. To retract the cord press and hold
the switch. Be careful to avoid personal injury when
operating the electric reel.
