The device also includes bark/silence alarm. The alarm sends a message to the hunter device when the bark
interval is below/above preset values.
3.
To set the bark alarm, choose
Main Menu > Targets > Dogs > <name of the target> SMS alarms > Set
bark alarm
. Now set time limit and rate limit of the bark. When the dog‟s barking frequency exceeds the
value you set for it, in the time period you set, you will receive an SMS notifying the dog has started barking.
When the barking frequency decreases below the values, you will receive another notification.
NOTE!
Bark detector may be influenced by external sounds, like branches hitting the device. Therefore, the device may
detect barking when the dog is not actually barking. If the bark detector does not function well, change the bark
detector sensitivity.
Measurin
g the length of dog’s travelling
There are two ways to measure the length of dog‟s travelling; odometer and track info.
Odometer
Odometer is inside of the G400 collar. The collar independently counts the distance traveled. The odometer is
turned on automatically when you turn the device on and the distance is measured every 15 seconds. Odometer is
reset every time the device is turned off. You can see the odometer from Device Info view, which can be opened
from many places, e.g. by choosing in Map view
Menu > Target Info
HINTS:
Because odometer needs GPS position to calculate the distances, it works best in Full GPS power mode. In other
modes the GPS positions are taken less frequently and the travelled distance is not as accurate as in full GPS
power.
Track length
In case you start recording track of the target, the track is recorded from the points that Tracker Hunter receives
from the collar. If you receive points e.g every 5 minutes, the track is recorded every 5 minutes. The track works
also with older collars.
GPS / GSM modes and power settings
GPS modes affect the GPS sensitivity, response time and power consumption of the device. Power consumption
modes of the device can be changed when the dog is out of sight as long as it is within the GSM network.
GPS modes are adjusted from Configuration commands menu which can be found in many ways, e.g.
Main Menu
> Targets > Dogs > < name of the target> Configuration commands
Full mode
(GPS acquires position as powerfully as possible) should be used mainly when the device has trouble
acquiring position. In this mode the device consumes the most power.
Power Save mode
(GPS acquires position as powerfully as in Full Power, but automatically reduces the power
when GPS signal strength is good) provides a good performance with less power consumption.
Off mode
(GPS is Off but is turned on when the user acquires position data or according to the settings of
Geofence) consumes very little power, but the response time increases. Also, when not using A-GPS, the device
may have difficulty acquiring position data.
GSM and GPS Off mode
(both GSM and GPS are Off) means, that the device can not be contacted. However,
GSM module of the device is automatically turned on periodically (every 30 minutes during the day and 60 minutes
during the night
– values can be adjusted by Tracker customer support). This mode provides very low power
consumption.
To use this power mode it is recommended to stop all Live trackings and set SMS tracking or Area alarm on for
e.g. every 30 minutes or less. If you request tracking more frequently than 15 minutes, the device stays on all
times and this mode does not save any more power than GPS Off state does.
Automatic mode
adjusts the mode according to the status of the battery. When battery is 70 % or more, the
device is in the Power Save mode. When battery is 40 to 70 %, the device is in GPS Off mode. Under 40 %, the
device is in GSM and GPS Off mode. (The values of Automatic mode can be adjusted by Tracker customer
support the same way as adjustments can be done in the GSM and GPS Off mode).
TIPS!
Although Tracker G400 has all of these features available, some other dog collars do not have all of these
functions available.
