Turn the handwheel towards yourself until the
needle is as far as possible to the left.

Position the fabric so that the needle slightly
catches the fold.

* Only catch 2-3 threads on the project fold as shown below

in correct stitching diagram.

Lower the presser foot, adjust the adjusting
screw so that the fold aligns with the guide, and
then sew with the fold against the guide.

Use invisible thread when sewing hems.
Transparent for light colored fabric
Shaded for dark colored fabric
