Appendix A Maintenance

A.1 Replace Hard Disk

This section describes how to replace hard disk.

In typeFR, which supports virtualization function, there are two disks, the PLC disk (drive

bay 0) and the Windows disk (drive bay 1). The PLC disk shall be booted before the

Windows disk.

When a hard disk is replaced, the newly added disk will be set to the higher priority boot

device than existing one. That is, if the Windows disk is replaced, the replaced Windows

disk will be set to the higher priority boot device than existing PLC disk. So the booting

priority shall be set again.

Important

If typeFR is started when the Windows disk’s booting priority is higher than the PLC disk,

only Windows will start up, and PLC will not start up.

There is a possibility of some trouble, so be sure to check the boot priority. Also, confirm that

PLC is started with nV-Tool after replacement.

Important

If you start Windows only without starting PLC, typeFR controller hardware clock
may be changed by Windows.
Refer to A.5 and check that the typeFR controller hardware clock is normal.

Confirm disk boot priority

Immediately after pressing the power button of typeFR, press the F2 key until the following

[BIOS MENU] is displayed.
