The computer’s back side
Security lock slot
A security cable attaches to this slot. The
optional security cable anchors your computer to
a desk or other large object to deter theft.
Fan vent
Provides air flow for the fan.
Be careful not to block the fan vent. Also be careful to keep foreign
objects out of the vents. A pin or similar object can damage the
computer’s circuitry.
Video out
TV OUT
Plug a 4 pin S-Video connector into this jack.
Modem jack
The modem jack lets you use a modular cable to
connect the modem directly to a telephone line.
In case of a lightning storm, unplug the modem cable from the telephone
jack.
Do not connect the modem to a digital telephone line. A digital line will
damage the modem.
Ether
LAN jack
This jack lets you connect to a LAN. The adaptor
has built-in support for Ethernet LAN (10
megabits per second, 10BASE-T) and Fast
Ethernet LAN (100 megabits per second,
100BASE-Tx). The LAN has two indicators. See
Chapter 4,

LAN active indicator
(orange)
This indicator glows orange when data is being
exchanged between the computer and the LAN.
