3.14 Out of Range Indication
The bars at the right of the
icon show conti-
nuously the signal strength received from the base.
If you are too far from the base, the radio signal
might become too weak and the phone might not
access to the telephone line. In these conditions you
can’t make or receive phone calls, for this reason the
display shows
NO BASE
and the
icon blinks.
✍
If you carry the handset too far from the base during a
call, the telephone line disconnects and the handset
returns to Standby mode. Check to see if the
icon
is blinking on the display. If so, move the handset clo-
ser to the base.
✍
If the radio coverage of your base is not sufficient for
your purpose, you might consider to buy an additional
optional base and register your handset on it, obtaining
a small personal cordless network. For further details
please see the par. 8.3 and 8.4.

UNCTIONS
When possible, to keep the maximum battery duty,
charge the battery only when it is completely dis-
charged, (i.e. when the battery icon has no bars inside
or, at least, with one bar) and don’t remove the
battery from the charger before the necessary time
to provide a full charge.
If with the time the battery doesn’t allow the full
duty, try do fully discharge it (by normally using
the phone) up to make the handset automatically
switched off as over stated, then leave the handset in
the base for 16 hours before removing it. Repeat this
deep charging/discharging cycle for at least 3 times.
If the battery duty still doesn’t increase, replace the
battery.
3.13.b Restoring the battery duty
! Don’t connect together (short circuit) the battery
terminals: this may cause fire, burns or explosions.
! Never dispose batteries into fire. They may explode
causing fire, burns or explosions. Strictly follow any
disposal regulation of your Country.
! Use only genuine batteries and charge them with the
base only. The use of non genuine accessories may
cause burns, fire or explosions; making serious
damages to the unit/battery or serious injuries to people.
! Don’t expose batteries directly to temperatures below
-20°C or greater than 35°C during their use and don’t
charge them outside the range of +5 to +55°C
