to rectify the problem as quickly
as possible.
11.1 Basic safety measures for maintenance and servicing
•
Comply with the specified inspection and maintenance intervals in the manual!
•
Switch the machine off before beginning maintenance and repair work, disconnect the
power connector and release the air connection!
•
Before carrying out maintenance and repair work, make sure that any parts of the
machine that it is possible to touch have cooled down to room temperature!
•
Repair work on the electrical equipment on the machine may only be carried out by
trained electricians!
11.2 Cleaning the print head
Impurities such as dust or ink particles can collect on the print head during printing. This results in a definite
impairment to the print quality.
•
Clean the print head each time you change the ink ribbon!
•
Do not use any sharp or hard objects to clean the print head!
•
Do not touch the glass protection layer on the print head with your bare hands!
Proceed as follows when cleaning the print head:
•
Pivot the print head.
•
Remove the labels and ink ribbon from the printer.
•
Clean the surface of the print head with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
•
Let the print head dry for approximately 2 to 3 minutes before using the printer again.
•
Clean the whole area of the print unit with a soft cloth or blow out with compressed air.
11.3 Teflon film
The Teflon film on the heating element must be cleaned of any residues one or two times a day with a linen
cloth and ThermoTex cleaning paste (see chapter 12, position Id9).
The Teflon film on the heating element must be replaced in case of wear and tear (see chapter12, position Id3).
11.4 Heat-seal rubber
Keep the heat-seal rubber clean so that the labels can be optimally pressed down. The heat-seal rubber must
be replaced in case of heavy soiling or wear and tear.
