7 Label layout
The Thermo-Ident can produce the following label types:
•
Plain text
Any characters can be printed
•
Barcode 2/5 Interleaved (with/without plain typeface line)
Lines that only contain 0
… 9 are printed as a barcode. If the line contains another character it cannot be
printed as a barcode. It is printed as plain text instead.
With an activated plain typeface line, this is printed under the barcode.
•
Data matrix code (with/without plain typeface line)
Any characters can be printed
Labels should be a maximum of 40 mm long so that they can be fully heat-sealed.
When entering long texts, possibly together with a logo, labels can be produced that are
longer than 40 mm.

1. Empty lines are ignored. It does not matter which of the two lines is empty. The label is not printed if both
lines are empty.
2. A maximum of one barcode can be printed on the label. Several barcodes would lead to problems later on
when scanning them.
3. Barcode type 2/5 Interleaved can only represent actual numbers. If the line contains letters or other
characters it is printed as plain text.
4. The barcode is printed without the corresponding plain typeface line due to space reasons.
