Temperature
controllers The FTIR Heated Valve Drawer features a temperature controller for
each heater. The temperature controller can be used to set the target
temperature and ramp rate, monitor current temperature, set an alarm
for overheating, and more.

Pressure
controller The automated pressure control system uses an Alicat pressure
controller. For instructions on using the controller to set and monitor
the pressure in your system, see
"Controlling pressure and flow with
the Manual Pressure Control system" .

Sample gas
valve Open and close inlet from the sample source

Cell outlet Use the FTIR Outlet Control valve to control the flow of gas exiting the
gas cell to the vacuum pump. This valve should be left in the OPEN
FTIR OUTLET position for all normal operation. Close the valve for
storage and shipment.
Typically, you should flow clean, dry Nitrogen through the system
before closing the valve for safe storage.
E Gas cell inlet
(cell entrance) The FTIR INLET RESTRICT and FTIR OUTLET RESTRICT needle
valves are used for precise control of the flow of gas into and out of
the gas cell.
Use these needle valves to adjust the balance between input and
output gases to maintain the sample pressure and flow in the gas
cellat a constant rate.
