Chapter 3: First Time Setup
Overview
Once t he hardw ar e is inst alled, physically connect ed t o you r net w or k, and pow er ed
on, y ou can configure t he Th ecus I P st orage so t hat it is accessible t o y our net w or k
user s. There ar e t w o w ays t o set up y our Thecus I P st orage: using t he Th e cu s
Se t u p W iz a r d or t he LCD d isp la y . Follow t he st eps below for init ial soft w ar e
set up.
Thecus Setup Wizard
The handy Th ecus Set u p Wizard m akes configuring Thecus I P st orage a snap. To
configure t he Thecus I P st orage using t he Set up Wizard, perform t h e follow ing
st eps:
1. I nsert t he inst allat ion CD int o your CD- ROM drive ( t he host PC m ust be
connect ed t o t he n et w or k) .
2. The Set up Wizard should launch aut om at ically. I f not , please brow se y our
CD- ROM drive and double click on Se t u p.e x e .
3. The Set up Wizard w ill st art and aut om at ically det ect all Thecus st orage
devices on y our net w or k. I f none ar e found, please ch eck y our conn ect ion
and refer t o

4. Select t he Thecu s I P st orage t hat you like t o configure.
5. Login w it h t he adm inist rat or account and passw ord. The default account
and passw ord ar e bot h “ admin ” .
