6. Install four dowel pins (16) into the blind holes on the
balancing ring (17) using sufficient Loctite 277
adhesive to hold the pins.
7. Assemble one backup ring (13) and O-ring (14) onto
balance ring (14). Install wave spring (15) with
sufficient petroleum jelly to keep it in place.

8 . Install second back-up ring (13) into the housing (5).
Flip the balance ring assembly (17) and assemble
into the housing, making sure to align the dowel pins
(16) with the holes in the housing.
IMPORTANT
Press on the balance ring and verify that it springs back
when released. This ensures that the ring has not been
pinched.

9. Insert button end of drive (12) into end of output shaft
(11).
10. Install the valve (1 8 ) into the housing with the shaft
notch (Z) aligned with the longest tang (X) of the
valve.
11. Mark the spline tooth (Y) on drive (12) that lines up
with the notch in the shaft (Z). This marked tooth is
critical to the timing of the motor.
12. Grease one O-ring (6) and assemble to housing (5).

13. If valve plate bearing (19) was removed, place thrust
bearing (20) into valve plate (20).
14. Use valve plate bearing tool (29) to press valve plate
bearing (19) into valve plate (21). The lettering on the
bearing denotes the side of the bearing to be
contacted with the tool.
15. Assemble valve plate (21) onto housing (5), aligning
screw holes in valve plate with screw holes in
housing.
