Adjusting Surround Sound
This system has a built-in Dolby Pro Logic Decoder. It can transform the stereo (or PCM) signal
to a
Dolby Surround
signal so that you can enjoy 5 speaker surround sound from normal 2
channel stereo CDs.
When listening to a CD/VCD or other 2 channel external source, press the SURROUND button
repeatedly to select the following listening modes: PRO LOGIC (AC-3) or STEREO
NOTE
: Before you press the SURROUND button, please lower the volume level to avoid loud
& possibly startling sounds.
If you are listening to a mono recording, select the STEREO setting for best results.
PRO LOGIC (AC-3) - Powers all 6 speakers (5 channels plus subwoofer).
STEREO - Powers only the 2 front speakers and the subwoofer.
When playing DVD discs, you can select different listening modes on its menu depending on what mode was recorded on the disc, such
as Dolby, AC-3, etc. If you do not select the listening mode, the disc will start playing in the factory
s default setting mode (AC-3)
automatically.
You may press the LANGUAGE button to hear different sound tracks which may be recorded on your disc.
MONO RIGHT
When listening to a VCD disc with different channels recorded, press the AUDIO button repeatedly to
select the following listening modes:

You may not be able to select the above channels by pressing the
AUDIO button for DVD discs.

Pressing the surround button may improve your sound.
NOTE 3

For some VCD discs, when you press the AUDIO button to select
MONO LEFT or MONO RIGHT, the sound may only come out from the
CENTRE speaker. To have normal 2 channel stereo sound output,
press SURROUND button to select "STEREO".
NOTE 4
: Some VCD discs have different languages in different channels,
For example: English may be on the left channel and French
may be on the right channel.
