1. USE

Accessory cords are only to be used

as auxiliary

ropes for mountaineering and climbing. They
are only designed to take force and not energy.

Other system components must meet the standards
applicable to mountaineering equipment.

NOTE

The rope should be the personal property of the
user. The information supplied (user instructions)
should be kept together with the equipment. The
product should only be used by persons who have the
appropriate training and/or are otherwise competent
to use it, or the user must be directly supervised
by such a person.

Ensure that the recommendations for

the use with

other components

are complied with: All com-

ponents must satisfy the relevant standards for
mountaineering equipment; for instance ropes must
meet EN 892, and karabiners, EN 12275.

You put yourself at risk by combining equipment
elements such that the safe operation of one com-
ponent or the equipment as a whole is impaired.

Check the rope visually before using it to ensure
that it is in a condition suitable for use and that it
works correctly. In the event of the slightest doubt,
the product should be withdrawn from use or ex-
amined by a specialist.

The technical details only apply to the product when
new at the time of manufacture!

2. KEY TO LABELLING

–  Product name: Nodus
–  EN 564:2014: Valid standard for accessory cord
–  CE 0408: CE confirms that the product meets the

basic requirements of 89/686/EC (personal protec-
tion equipment). The number identifies the testing
institution (0408 is TÜV Austria Services GmbH,
Deutschstraße 12, A1230 Vienna).

–  Item number of the product
–  Year of manufacture of the product
–  Breaking load in [kN] at the time of manufacture

3. SERVICE LIFE

Only if the rope is rarely used (one week a year)
and stored correctly (see the section on transport,
storage and cleaning) can its useful life (for products
made in 2006 and after) be up to 5 years from date
of manufacture. Actual useful life depends solely on
the condition of the product which is influenced by
various factors (see below). The lifespan could be
as short as first use under extreme conditions, or
even less if damaged (e.g. in transit) prior to first use.

Mechanical wear or other influences such as the ef-
fects of sunlight seriously reduce useful life. Bleached
or rubbed fibres / belt straps, discolouring and
hardening are a sure sign that the product should
be withdrawn from use.

We expressly refrain from making any general state-
ments about the useful life of the product, since it
depends on a variety of factors such as UV light, the
type and frequency of use, treatment, the effects
of weathering such as snow, the environment such
as salt, sand, battery acid, and many more factors.

WARNING

The use of our products can be dangerous. Our products may only be used for their intended purpose. They must particularly not be used for lifting
as specified in EU directive 2006/42/EC. The customer is responsible that the user has been trained in the safe use of the product and in accom-
panying safety precautions.Be aware of the fact that the product can cause damage if wrongly used, stored, cleaned or overloaded.Check national
