HYDRAULIC SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS

CONDITION

REASON

REMEDY

Scraper Bowl, Apron

Insufficient oil pressure.

Check pressures as described earlier.

Pump is not being driven or receiving. Check pump drive or intake line.

Faulty control valve operation.

Check valve plunger travel and relief valve
adjustment.

Faulty cylinder operation.

Check for leaks in cylinder.
Check oil pressure at cylinder. If pressure is
low, check for restrictions in lines and check
pressure at control valve.

Bowl, Apron or

Bent piston tube or jammed cylinder.

Replace faulty parts.

Obstruction or bind on ejector.

Remove obstruction or repair bound part.

Ejector will not return Bent cylinder.

Replace damaged parts.

over its centre.

Apron and Ejector

Weak or broken detent springs.

Replace detent springs.
