（2）If the pump is out of use for prolonged periods，observe the following instructions：
① In the wintertime，there is danger that the pump interior may freeze，so be sure
to drain all the water from the pump，or else provide thermal insulation．
② If there is a stand by pump，run it from time to time to keep it in good operating condition．
③ Gland packing used as shaft seal may be rusted if pump is not operated for a long period.
Insert a new shaft seal after greasing as anti-rust processing.
④ Drive the backup pump sometimes and make sure it can be used anytime if necessary.
５.２ Mechanical seal
（1）Mechanical seal is a precision parts for prevention of water leak.
Handle it with care to operate without any trouble.
（2）Mechanical seal is a consumable part. Its life depends on the quality of liquid, having
foreign objects or no, pressure, etc.
（3）If water leaks, request exchange it.
In the beginning of driving a pump, mechanical seal may leak a little sometimes because
the shortage of familiarity of mechanical seal slide surface. This leak is not abnormalities
of a mechanical seal. Use the pump free from care.
５．３ About double mechanical seal
(1)
Do not drive double mechanical seal when it is dry. It may cause damage on seal and lead
to leak.
(2)
Flushing liquid must be circulated previously. Do not stop flushing when pump is driving
as it may cause atmosphere side sealing surface in dry operation.
(3)
When flushing liquid is circulating, a pump will not in dry driving. But do not empty
operation for a long period.
(4)
The liquid leak under operation is very dangerous. Do not close your face or hand.
(5)
The operation mistake of a valve may damage seal equipment and cause sealing liquid disperses
in the atmosphere side. Please ensure valve operation of the piping lines.
(6)
Double mechanical seals are precise parts. Do not give big load or shock when handling.
(7)
Keep oil, grease, etc. away from a double mechanical seal.
(8)
Inspect the flushing liquid and exchange the seal if the reduction in flow or muddiness
of liquid is observed.
(9)
Double mechanical seals are consumables. Periodical exchange is recommended even if
abnormalities do not occur.
