Performance and Testing Command Descriptions
PA – Pre-deployment Tests
Purpose
Sends/displays results of a series of H-ADCP system diagnostic tests.
Format

Recommended Setting.
Use as needed.
Description
These diagnostic tests check the major H-ADCP modules and signal paths. We recom-
mend you run this command before a deployment. These tests check the following
boards/paths.
•
CPU - CPU RAM and real-time clock.
•
Recorder - verifies recorder operation.
•
DSP - RAM, registers, and DSP-to-CPU Communications.
•
System Tests - A test signal is routed through the DSP and back to the CPU. This
checks the main electronics processor path.
•
Receive Path - quiescent RSSI levels are checked for [20 < RSSI < 60 counts] and the
RSSI filters are checked for proper time constants.
•
Transmit Path - checks transmit voltage, current, and impedance.
•
Sensors - verifies sensor operation.
