«DM» mode
The
“DM” (digital mode) mode is used for common voice or data communications on
fixed frequency. In this case the desired operating frequency, correspondent emission class
are programmed for each channel and modem settings are programmed from the control unit
only. In the type of operation selection menu this marked with
“Digital Mode”, and the front
panel displays as “DM”. This type of operation can be used to work with older radios, that
operates with external data modems, and other radios, that provide data transmission in
compliance with the MIL-STD-188-110B, APPENDIX F, or STANAG4539 / MIL-STD-188-
110B, or MIL-STD-188-110A
, § 5.3.
1.1.4.10 Operation in digital telephony mode
The radio can operate in digital telephony mode (digital voice), that allows performance
of communication session over poor signal and jamming, when communication is not possible
between the analog single-band radios. The advantages of operation in such mode are
provided by the modem of the high-reliability modulation. When the digital telephony is used,
the voice analog signal conversion technique is used, which is recommended by the
STANAG 4591 on two permissible bit rates (2400 and 1200 bps).
Digital telephony mode can be used only in radios of the R-1150-00 type and cannot
be used to operate with analog radios.
1.1.4.11
«ALE» mode
The radio provides operation in the
“ALE” mode (adaptive selection of the working
channel with automatic link establishment mode) in compliance with the MIL-STD-188-
141В.
The operation in the
“ALE” mode enhances the reliability of communication and makes the
work of radio operator easy. The radio, which operates in "ALE" mode, selects the
preprogrammed channel of the best quality automatically to link with one or several stations.
In the type of operation selection menu the operation in the
“ALE” mode is marked
with
«2G-ALE». This type of operation can be selected to work with radios that support
operation in the
“ALE” mode in compliance with the MIL-STD-188-141В. The operation is
possible in common sections of the frequency range, when common emission classes are
used. During data transmission, operation with modems, complied with the requirements of the
MIL-STD-188-110B APPENDIX F or STANAG4539/MIL-STD-188-110B, or MIL-STD-188-110A
§ 5.3.
All radios are assigned with their home unique “address” (call address). The calling
station, which places a call to another station (stations), sends the address of the called station
over one of the channels. If there is no respond, it will make another attempt to call on another
