7.2 Upgrading Firmware of Base Unit
There are two ways to upgrade base unit as shown below .
First method to upgrade base unit:
The base unit device can be updated through a USB drive as below.
1. Copy the updating file “update.img” to the root directory of the USB drive.
2. Connect the USB drive to either USB port of Base-unit .
Note: The USB port can only support maximum 500ma. Please use a small power U-disk (USB hard
drive) as upgrading USB drive.
Wireless Media recognizes the “
update.img ” file on a plugged-in USB stick automatically and starts
the “FullUpdate” procedure.
You can unplug the USB stick within 10 seconds to stop the update.
Note: Do not disconnect power during upgrading progress or the unit firmware will become corrupted.
3. The upgrading progress displays as shown below, and the unit will reboot automatically after
completing the update to 100%. The display device shows the Home Screen after a normal
boot of the device, and you can disconnect USB-drive.
Note: During the update, the screen may be temporarily dark. If the progress bar stops at 1%, use
another USB stick, as it may be defective.
4. Perform “Factory Reset” when the firmware update is complete
