you install only backup (Secondary) BAT, activation procedure does not start.
WARNING!
After registering keypad in wireless network
«3.Test» sub-item of Engineer menu
(see the menu structure table on pages 11-12, highlighted gray) is not accessible.
8 Pre-Starting Procedure and Installation
8.1
After transportation in conditions differing from those of operation keep keypad
unpacked under supposed operating conditions for at least 4 hours.
8.2
Install battery
:
1)
Open the keyboard cover.
2)
Using a screwdriver, remove two screws on the BAT compartment cover and
remove the cover.
3)
Insert the main (Primary) and then backup (Secondary) battery cells; make sure the
polarity is correct.
When switching keypad ON,
test mode
is activated to verify operability of the keypad
electronic circuit. The test lasts no more than
20 seconds
.
During testing, the
BZ
sounds intermittently, at a frequency of
4 times per second
. At
test mode start, all pixels on the
display
turn ON for
1 second
; then the display clears
and the
«Test...» message appears.
When the test is complete, the keypad displays the
«Attention. Not registered» message.
4)
Replace the BAT compartment cover and tighten screws. If necessary, close the
keypad cover.
8.3
Register
the keypad in the system by following the instructions described in
MSS
Setup Module
or in
Paragraph 7.5
of the operating manual.
After successful registration of the keypad, for long term storage before its installation, it
is allowed to switch the keypad
OFF
by removing batteries or installing a soft isolator.
When power is supplied, there is no need to re-register the keypad in the same wireless
network if it was not intentionally removed from the network via Astra-Z MSS.
8.4
Install
the keypad on site within line-of-sight of the wireless network coordinator
(RVZ of the central control panel) or repeater/router RR:
1) Mark the installation surface by applying the template (see Appendix).
2) Tighten the screws.
3) Open the keyboard cover, remove two screws of the battery compartment cover,
and remove the cover.
4) Hang up the keyboard. Make marking for the locking screw (see the picture from
«Structure» paragraph).
