For intrinsically safe applications, use an MTL 5525 Galvanic Isolator and configure the respective sounder
circuits type to “IS (MTL 5525)” using the SOLAR software. Refer to
PRAPN-0034 Intrinsically Safe
Application Guide
for the wiring diagram.
1.9.2
DETECTION ZONE INPUTS
Each zone is individually monitored for Short Circuit, Low Resistance, Fire, Double End-of-Line, Normal and
Open Circuit Conditions. The 3k3 resistor provided must be connected across the -ve and +ve (output)
terminal of the last device installed on that zone
– see Figure 24 below.
Figure 24
Detection Zone Inputs Shown for the 4 Zone Panel (ORYX204)
The panel monitors this resistance and will react with a Fault condition if an open or short circuit is detected.
A resistance between 220
– 900 Ω across the circuit will produce a fire alarm. Up to 32 devices may be wired
per zone, as per EN54 Standards. For specific device allocations per zone, refer to the applicable local
standard.
For intrinsically safe applications, use a MTL 5561
Galvanic Isolator and configure the respective zone circuit’s
type to “IS (MTL 5561)” using the SOLAR software. Refer to
PRAPN-0034 Intrinsically Safe Application
Guide
for the wiring diagram.
1.9.3
RELAY OUTPUTS
▪
The 2 zone panel is equipped with four relay outputs, the 4 zone with six relay outputs and the 8 zone panel
with 10 relay outputs. See Figure 25 below for terminal block positions.
▪
Each output is unsupervised with volt-free changeover contacts rated at 30 V AC/DC, 1 A, resistive.
▪
The Fault and Fire Relays are fixed to indicate their respective conditions.
