2.4 REMOTE OPERATION SET UP
The Procedures listed below enable the user to custom configure the unit for external remote
control hardware. Refer to Table 2-1 for connector pin details on Remote Control D Connector
located at rear of Case Assembly and Table 2-2 for Jumper Functions.
The Record audio output and Remote audio line level is factory set for -8 dBm. Trimpot resistor
R26 (Record) is adjustable over the range of +10 dBm to -20 dBm. Trimpot resistor R35
(Remote Audio) adjusts levels over the range of +10 dBm to -15 dBm.
Transmitter keying can be set for ground keying or ± DC keying. In ± DC keying, a positive
voltage b10 Vdc and +48 Vdc or negative voltage between -10 Vdc and -48 Vdc
will key the transmitter. A DC voltage between -5 Vdc and +5 Vdc will not key the
transmitter.
(1) Remove Cover from Case Assembly. Refer to paragraph 2.1.1.
CAUTION
This unit contains static sensitive devices. Wear a
grounding strap and/or conductive gloves when
handling printed circuit boards.
(2) Position Jumpers on Control board as indicated in Table 2-2. Refer to Figure 2-3 for
jumper locations.
NOTE
Jumpers J1, and J2 must be in one of the Locations
shown in Table 2-2 for Press-To-Talk (PTT) Operation.
(3) Replace Cover on Case Assembly. Refer to paragraph 2.1.2.
(4) Verify Remote Control operation in accordance with manufacturers instructions.
