BATTERY INSTALLATION & REMOVAL
2.2.1 Battery Removal
Remove Cover Assembly as described in paragraph 2.1.1. Refer to Figure 2-2 for location of
items indicated below.

Disconnect (+) and (-) Terminal lugs (12) on Battery (13).
(2)
Disconnect 3 Ribbon Cable Connectors (9) on Control Board (8).
(3)
Disconnect External DC cable connection (10) on Control Board.
(4)
Disconnect TP1 Connector (11) on Control Board.
(5)
Remove and retain 2 screws, 2 lockwashers, and 2 nuts (14) securing D connector (15)
to rear of chassis (6).
(6)
Remove and retain 4 screws (16) securing Control Board Bracket (17) to chassis (5).
(7)
Lift Control Board Bracket slightly, slide toward front of chassis, and lift clear of chassis
lip (18).
(8)
Lift Bottom edge of Batteries and slide forward to clear chassis lip. Lift Batteries clear
of chassis.
Replace Cover Assembly as described in paragraph 2.1.2.
2.2.2 Battery Installation
Remove Cover Assembly as described in paragraph 2.1.1. Refer to Figure (2-1) for location of
items indicated below.
CAUTION
Batteries are shipped charged to 80% capacity.Damage
to equipment and personnel may result if care is not
taken to prevent accidental shorting of Battery
terminals.
NOTE
Batteries are shipped with anti-corrosive agent on
battery terminals. DO NOT remove agent when
installing batteries.
(1)
Disconnect UHF connector (19) from transceiver (20).
(2)
Position Batteries (13) flush with chassis lip bracket (18).
(3)
Position Control Board Bracket Assembly (17) over Batteries and secure to chassis (6)
with 4 screws (16).
