T207S, T208S, T207S/NP and T208S/BL User Guide
Send
After digits are dialed in a SIP phone, the digits must be sent to the server. If
express dialing is defined for your phone, the digits are sent automatically.
Otherwise you must press # or OK to send the digits.
Signaling
In a VoIP phone call, the information in a call that deals with establishing and
controling the connection, and managing the network. The non-signaling portion
of the call is the Media.
SIP
Session Initiation Protocol. The signaling protocol used by Coral SeaBeam for
handling phone calls.
SRTP
Secure Real-time Transport Protocol. A protocol for delivering the media
portion of a data transmission over an IP network. SRTP is a secure protocol,
which means that the media is encrypted.
“RTP”
(see above) is another media
protocol.
Station/Extension
Each Coral internal telephone is called a station/extension and it performs many
activities dealing with input and output along the communications system.
Station Group
A number of stations linked together (members) for a common function, such as
Hunt group or Boss group. A station can be defined as a member of many Hunt
groups and/or Boss groups.
TCP
Transmission Control Protocol. A transport protocol for delivering data over an
IP network. Other transport protocols are
“TLS”
(see below) and
“UDP”
(see
below).
