Height of drawbar
Adjust the machine's drawbar height by means of the tractor's link arms. Set the drawbar as
horizontally as possible, taking the following into consideration:
Check that the difference in height between the tractor's and machine's P.T.O. shafts is not
excessive, - the P.T.O. shaft angles must be a maximum of 15
o when the machine is
operating.
If the tractor is unable to keep the link arms in the required position, lock them by means of chain
G
as shown.
Automatic depth control (draft) must no be used. If this device cannot be disengaged it must be
blocked. See the tractor's manual.

P.T.O. shaft "tractor - swivel hitch"
Before fitting the P.T.O. shaft check the length in the following way:
•
Adjust the tractor link arms so that the machine and tractor P.T.O. shafts are level then fit the
two halves of the shaft on both the tractor's and machine's splined shaft.
Note: If the tractor with P.T.O. = 1000 r.p.m. is equipped with 21 splined P.T.O. shaft, the
standard 6 splined yoke must be replaced. Order number is shown in machines spare
parts list (optional equipment).

Hold the two P.T.O. halves together as shown on photo 3 and mark the correct shaft length
(about 25 mm of clearance). Note: On most tractors it is not necessary to shorten the shaft at all.

When shortening the shaft the same length of all 4 parts a - b - c - d must be cut off. Be very
careful when shortening, - the inner profile tube of the shaft is coated with RILSAN and must
not be damaged. Do not use an angle grinder to cut the shaft!
The shaft ends should be cleaned off with a file and finished with an emery clotch. This is
especially important for the outer tube. Otherwise the coating of RILSAN may be "scraped
off". Remove all metal filings and lubricate the profile tubes with Molybdenum grease or
equivalent.

Hydraulic connection
Connect the hydraulic hoses from the drawbar cylinder to a set of double-acting oil connections
and connect the hose from the lifting cylinders to a single-acting oil connection. Ensure that the
single-acting oil connection can be used for a remote cylinder and can be secured in the raised
position, - see the tractor manual.
Note: When lifting a new machine hydraulically for the first time the left side of the machine
will lift to the maximum before the right side. At the same time as lifting the right hand
side it might be necessary to bleed the cylinder, shown at
H
.
Be careful when operating with hydraulics. Always use eye protection and gloves.
Escaping hydraulic oil under pressure might penetrate the skin and cause serious
infection. Call for a doctor if a person is exposed to injury.
