Installing dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie
This section provides the required steps and information to install the PCIe IP Prototyping Kit image.

2.3.1
Setting Up Your Environment
Before you extract the dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie_
<version>
.run file, you need to set the DESIGNWARE_HOME
environment variable to your installation directory, follow the next steps:
1.
Set the DESIGNWARE_HOME environment variable to the DWC_pcie_ctl installation directory:
% setenv DESIGNWARE_HOME <path to DWC_pcie_ctl_install_base_dir>

Include the following in your PATH environment variable:
$DESIGNWARE_HOME/bin
$DESIGNWARE_HOME/bin is required in your PATH environment variable as it contains the
dwh_update, dwh_install, and dw_vip_setup scripts. These scripts provide important diagnostic
information in about the version of your DWC component(s).
2.3.2
Extracting the Release Package
The PCIe IP Prototyping Kit release package comes in a self-extracting file
(dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie_<version>.run).
To extract the release package and configure the environment variables follow the next steps:
1.
Change permissions of the .run file, enter:
% chmod u+x dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie_<version>.run
For more details about install release package, enter the following command:
% ./dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie_<version>.run –-help
2.
To start the self-extracting process, enter the following command:
% ./dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie_<version>.run --dir <installation_folder>
3.
When prompted, enter the Project ID that you specified at the time of purchase.
