6 - Maintenance - Repair

Cleaning

Electrodes

Trides

Grease and oily films may cause reading errors.

Shut down the instrument according to

6.3.1,

Disconnect and remove the electrode.

Clean the tip cautiously with alcohol using a soft tissue.

Rinse the electrode with water and protect it with the cap
until you remount it.

– Prevent the electrode from drying out!
– For longer interruptions, fill the cap with water before

placing it on the electrode.

Remount in reverse order.

Observe the

pH sensor

Shut down the instrument according to

6.3.1,

Disconnect and remove the sensor.

Cautiously wipe the sensor tip with a clean, soft and damp
tissue. Remove grease with alcohol using a soft tissue.

WARNING

Hydrochloric acid is a strong corrosive. Handle with great care.
Observe the health and safety warnings on the container.

Place the sensor tip for approx. one minute in diluted
hydrochloric acid 5%.

Rinse the sensor thoroughly with water and protect it with
the cap until you remount it.
– Prevent the sensor from drying out!
– For longer interruptions, fill the cap with KCl 2 M solution

before placing it on the sensor.

Remount in reverse order.

Run system for one hour, then perform Standard pH
calibration, see

5 “Calibration”,
