Chapter 12 Appendix4-CG clamp-on transducers and the
installation methods
12.1. Overview
CG100 is a 2MHz clamp-on transducer, is suitable for small pipe measurement,
and it must be equipped with D116G transmitter.
Pipe Range: DN15~DN50
Pipe Materials: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper
12.2. Measurement site selection
The spacing between the transducers is very important for the strongest signal
and the most accurate measurement. For the measurement site selection, please
refer to Chapter 3.0.
12.3. Installation methods
1. Select the suitable transducers installation site, please refer to Chapter 3.0 for
more details;
2. Transducers Installation Methods: V-type and Z-type. Choose the proper
installation method according to the field condition, please refer to Chapter 4.1
for more details;
3. Clean the transducers installation site, remove the rust and painting (excluding
the fine painting); Attention: on the horizontal pipe, the transducers should be
mounted on the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock position of the pipe section, in order to
avoid the signal attenuation caused by the sediment at the bottom, or air
bubbles or cavitations.
Apply the coupling compound on the center of each transducer’s surface
Attention: while installing the transducers, ensure that there are no bubbles
between the transducers and the pipe.
4. Fix the transducers according to the spacing displayed in MENU 25 (see the
following picture, Transducer Space is the spacing between the two
