4.2 Headers and Connectors
Fan Headers
This motherboard has five fan headers (FAN1-5). These are 4-pin fan headers, although pins
1-3 are backward compatible with traditional 3-pin fans. Four-pin fans allow fan speeds to be
controlled by Thermal Management in IPMI
.
When using the Thermal Management setting,
use all 3-pin fans or all 4-pin fans.

JPW2 must also be connected to the power supply. This connector is used to power the
processor(s).

Speaker/Buzzer Header
On the SPKR header, pins 1-4 are for the speaker and pins 3 and 4 are for the buzzer. If
you wish to use an external speaker, connect its cable to pins 1-4.

The Internal Speaker (SP1) can be used to provide audible notifications using various beep
