Chapter 1 SL500 Introduction

Tape Management Software

The tape management software provides the instructions to perform tape read and 

write operations and robotic move operations. When the library is in automated mode, 

these operations occur without manual intervention. The software determines where 

the cartridge is located by accessing audit data uploaded from the library. The software 

then allocates the tape drive to receive the cartridge.

For command descriptions and instructions, refer to your software publications.
