A.  TO EXTEND OR COLLAPSE THE LEGS

The legs are made to easily retract into the fire pit for 

transport and storage. The unit will be shipped with all 

legs in the collapsed position. Each leg has a “leg locking 

button” that engages in the fire pit sidewalls to secure into 

place. Before assembling or operating the fire pit, depress 

the button and pivot each leg to the extended position as 

shown in Figure A. Reverse the process to collapse the 

legs before transporting or storing the fire pit

.

  Remove packing material and all parts from the carton.  

Packing material and carton can be retained for storage if 

desired.

2.

  Refer to the parts list on page 3.  Ensure that all 

components are contained in the package.

3.

  Align the Control Valve Knob with the Control Valve Shaft 

and press fully into place. 

4.

  Push in and rotate the Control Valve Knob counter 

clockwise  .  You should hear a click of the ignitor at the 

90° mark.  This will be the 

HIGH setting

.  Rotate the knob 

to the 180° mark.  This will be the 

LOW setting

.

5.

  Ensure legs are in the extended position as shown 

in Figure A above. Install the collection pan (110860) 

and spacer (063863) using the Bolt (122153) and Nut 

(122154) supplied. Tighten bolt until pan is snug.

6.

  Remove the Pumice Stone from the plastic packaging 

and place the stone on top of the burner uniformly to fill 

the pan.  Burn media must cover the complete burner by 

a minimum of one (1) inch to assure proper performance 

and operation.  Do not operate unit until the correct 

amount of media is present.  Do not place any combustible 

material in the burner pan.  Only use Suburban approved 

burner media

.

ASSEMBLY

Review these instructions prior to the 

assembly of your appliance.  Please refer 

to page 5 for illustrations.

7.

  Using a Phillips screw driver, install the lid handle onto 

the storage lid using the screws and washers provided.  

Tighten securely.  Do not overtighten.

8.

  Place the lid on the unit ensuring the tabs on the lid 

align with the large openings in the top.  Rotate counter 

clockwise   to lock the lid in position.  Never place the lid 

on the appliance while it is in operation or still hot from 

use.

 

WARNING

9.

  Place the portable LP gas cylinder (not included) at a 

minimum distance of 60” (5 ft) from the appliance.  Ensure 

the cylinder is on a solid surface and protected from tipping 

and moisture.  Anti-tip device must be used at all times.

10.

 Attach the Swivel Nut attached to the LP gas regulator 

on the outlet of the cylinder.  Hand tighten the nut on the 

fitting - do not use tools to connect.  The LP gas regulator 

should be protected from moisture at all times.

11.

  A hose retainer is located on the front leg of the appliance.  

Place the hose in the opening.  Ensure hose and cylinder 

are out of any pathway and not in danger of being 

accidentally damaged.

12.

 To leak test the system, turn the unit control valve to 

the “off” position. Brush a soap and water mixture on all 

connections. Turn the gas supply on; if bubbles occur on 

any connection there may be a leak. If you smell gas or 

a  leak  is  discovered  turn  the  gas  valve  off,  disconnect 

propane gas tank and do not use the appliance until the 

leak is repaired.

13.

 Review all warning labels on the appliance.  Some labels 

may be located on the back side of the appliance.

14.

 Set the propane bottle into the anti-tip ring and secure the 

ring to the bottle by hand tightening the supplied thumb 

screw.

LIGHTING AND SHUTDOWN INSTRUCTIONS

Read and become familiar with all WARNINGS and 

instructions in this manual, on the appliance and on the 

LP gas cylinder before lighting this appliance.  Failure to 

do so may result in personal injury, property or death.

 

WARNING

1.

  Ensure the portable LP gas cylinder is at minimum 60” 

(5 ft) from the appliance and the gas hose is not in a 

pathway that could cause a trip hazard

2.

  Ensure  there  are  no  combustible  materials,  liquids 

or vapors in the vicinity of the appliance.  Ensure the 

appliance is away from all walls and ceilings.

3.

  The control valve knob should be in the 

OFF

 position.

4.

  Remove the lid from the appliance by pressing the release 

button and rotating clockwise  .  Store in a safe location 

when not in use.

5.

  Turn the LP gas cylinder on fully by rotating the knob on 

top of the cylinder counter clockwise  .
