4 ELECTRICAL

INSTALLATION

4.11

Regulations:

The electrical installation must be carried out in

accordance with the current national electrical regulations and installed

by a qualified person.

4.12

Safety:

In the interests of electrical safety a 30 mA. residual current

 device

(

R.C.D. not supplied

) should be installed in the supply circuit.

This may be part of a consumer unit or a separate unit.

4.13  Before starting work on the electrical installation ensure the power

supply is isolated.

4.14  The wiring must not be exposed to water.
4.15  The supply cable must be positioned so that it is not stepped on, cut or
 damaged.

4.16  The controller is provided with a factory fitted supply cord.  This must be

permanently connected to the fixed wiring of the mains supply.  Means for

disconnection must be incorporated in the fixed wiring.

4.17  A suitable method of connection would be via a double pole switched fused

connection unit complying with BS 1363-4, protected with a fuse (see

Section 8 - Technical specification).

4.18  The connection unit should be mounted in an easily accessible position.
4.19

 Fuse:

A 3 Amp fuse must be fitted.

4.20  The switch control lead and pump supply lead must be connected as shown in
 Fig.

8.

4.21  Use 2.5 mm

2

CSA cable, along with a suitable connector (not supplied) for

joining the pump supply lead to the pump.  The pump cable must be routed

through the cable grommet (E).

Note: Prepare the gully switch lead and the pump lead as Fig. 9.

Do not allow excess wire to be placed inside the controller.  The

wires from the controller should be arranged as shown in Fig. 8.

Ensure protective cover is replaced as shown in Fig. 10.
