1 LOCATION
1.11 The controller assembly is a class II appliance which must be located outside
the bathroom, and within a dry area. It must be positioned at a distance no
further than 3 metres away from the shower gully, to allow the gully switch wire
to be connected.
Ensure easy access, to allow service.
1.12 The pump assembly can be located within the bathroom, within zones 1 and 2,
according to BS 7671, and at a distance no greater than 3 metres away from
controller. Ensure plumbing pipe distances are met (Fig. 4) and that there is easy
access, to allow service. The pump assembly must be located away from the
direct line of water jets, where possible.
1.13 Both the controller and pump must be positioned away from heat sources,
such as radiators and heaters. Care must be taken to protect the unit from frost
and freezing. All pipes at risk of freezing must be protected by thermal
insulation.
