Replacing Scale CPU:
Required Tools:

Replacement Procedure:
1. Unplug the power cord from the wall receptacle.
2. Properly ground yourself (see page 14 for static discharge precautions).
3. Remove the foot end frame end from the litter (see page 16 for instructions).
4. Remove the connectors from the scale CPU circuit board (see illustration). Note the orientation and
placement of the connectors so they will be attached properly to the new scale CPU board.

5. Using a small screwdriver, remove the four screws holding the scale CPU board and carefully remove
the CPU board from the spacers on the litter computer plate.
6. Place the new scale CPU board over the spacers and reinstall the four screws.
7. Attach the connectors to the scale CPU board. Be sure to orient the connectors properly.
Calibration Procedure:
1. Place the new CPU board in diagnostics mode.
2. Push the scale lockout toggle switch (located under the foot end control panel) to the off position.
3. Press and hold the LBS./KG. button and push the toggle switch back to the on position.
4. Release the LBS./KG. button. The scale display should read “DOWNLOAD BARCODE”.
5. Repeatedly press and release the LBS./KG. button until the display reads “INIT TO DEFAULTS”.
6. Press and hold the WEIGHT SYSTEM ON button until the display reads “DEFAULTS ENTERED”.
7. Repeatedly press and release the LBS./KG. button until the display reads “CALIBRATE SCALE”.
8. Press and hold the WEIGHT SYSTEM ON button. Zero the scale, following the displayed instructions.
When the scale is zeroed, the scale monitor will display “REF X 100 = <2>0000. This reference number
represents 200 pounds.
9. If the weight being used for calibration is not 200 pounds, the reference number must be changed to
match the weight. To change the reference number, use the LBS./KG. button to position the brackets
(< >) around the digit to be changed and the LOCK/UNLOCK button to scroll through the numbers.
