LITTER CONTROL BOARD ALIGNMENT (Continued):
Trendelenburg Display Alignment Procedure (Continued):
Mechanical Alignment of the Trendelenburg Potentiometer Linkage (Continued):
1.
Using a jewelers screwdriver, turn the Trend pot shaft fully clockwise to its mechanical stop.
2.
Remove the foot end frame end (see page 16).
3.
Unplug the Trend pot cable and measure the resistance between the black wire and the green wire. Turn
the Trend pot so that the resistance is between 14 and 16 ohms. Lock down the set screws holding the
Trend pot shaft and measure the resistance again.
4.
Place approximately 200 pounds on the litter (sit near the head end of the bed). The resistance measure-
ment should not exceed 23 ohms with the weight on the litter. Repeat steps 5 and 6, if necessary.
5.
Apply thread lock compound to the set screws.
Electrical Alignment of the Trendelenburg Display:
1.
Complete the mechanical procedure above.
2.
Using the foot pedal, raise the bed fully. Again, using the foot pedal, put the bed into full Trendelenburg.
3.
Using a jewelers screwdriver, adjust R9 on the litter control board so that the +12 degree LED on the
Trend display is lighted. (Turning R9 clockwise will move the lighted LED towards the –12 degree end
of the display). Adjust R9 so that is positioned in the center of the range that keeps the +12 degree LED
lighted. This point is approximately 3 turns past the point at which the +12 degree LED first lights.
4.
Paint the adjusting screw of R9 with red lacquer.
Cardiac Chair Fowler Limit Alignment Procedure:
Mechanical Alignment:
1.
Complete the Fowler pot mechanical alignment procedure.
2.
Raise the bed fully with the litter level. Raise the Fowler to 90 degrees using an inclinometer or a protrac-
tor to achieve the correct angle.
Electrical Alignment:
1.
Complete the mechanical procedure above.
2.
Remove the foot end frame end (see page 16).
3.
Using a jewelers screwdriver, adjust R17 on the litter control board so LED 1 on the control board switches
from brightly lighted to dim. Adjust R17 so it is positioned in the center of the range of adjustment that
keeps the LED dim. This point is approximately 1 1/2 turns past the point at which the LED first goes
dim.
4.
When properly adjusted, the Fowler should stop between 40 degrees and 50 degrees in cardiac chair.
Test with the Fowler starting at 0 degrees and again with the Fowler at 90 degrees. Turning R17 clockwise
one turn will raise the Fowler stopping point approximately 3 degrees.
5.
Paint the adjusting screw of R17 with red lacquer.
6.
Reinstall the foot end frame end.
