- Petrol ground auger is designed for drilling in the ground. Its use may be regulated by state legislation.
Before using the ground auger, find out what legislation is at the place of operation.
- Never use a tool that has been modified and does not match the original design.
- When using the tool, be careful and vigilant, paying close attention to the activity you are performing.
- Focus on the work. Do not use the earth auger if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. Even a momentary inattention while using a ground auger can result in serious injury. Do not
eat, drink or smoke while working.
- Always wear suitable protective equipment. For more information, read the section "Protective work
equipment".
- Check the machine before use. If any damage is found, do not use the machine and have it repaired by an
authorized service center.
- Before starting, check that all guards and elements are in place.
- Check the spark plug cover and spark plug for damage before use to avoid the risk of electric shock.
- Make sure that no one is closer than 5 m to the tool while working.
CAUTION! The petrol auger creates an electromagnetic field during operation, which in some circumstances
may interfere with the implanted medical devices. To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury, we recommend
that persons with implanted medical devices consult their physician and the manufacturer of the implanted
medical device before using this tool.
CAUTION! Using a petrol auger in poorly ventilated or confined spaces can cause death due to asphyxiation
or carbon dioxide poisoning.
PROTECTIVE WORK EQUIPMENT
- The ground auger becomes a dangerous tool if used carelessly or incorrectly and can cause serious, even
fatal, injuries. It is extremely important that you read and understand this operating manual.
- You must use approved personal protective equipment whenever you use the machine. The use of personal
protective equipment does not eliminate the risk of accidents but may reduce the effects of injury in the
event of an accident.
- When choosing the right personal protective equipment, consult your seller first.
Hearing protection
Wear ear muffs that ensure adequate noise reduction.
CAUTION! If you wear hearing protection, beware of warning signs or shouts. Always wear ear muffs only
after the engine has stopped.
Eye protection
- It is neccesary to wear safety goggles or face shield.
Hands protection
- Always wear protective gloves when necessary (eg when fixing the auger bit).
Foot protection
- Wear sturdy non-slip boots or shoes.
Clothing
- Never wear loose clothing, scarves, jewelry or similar items that could get caught in the auger bit.
- Make sure your hair does not reach lower than your shoulders.
- Always have a first aid kit handy.
