Final Assembly
(continued)
91. Open the covering over the servo pocket on the
LEFT
side of the fuselage
and remove the balsa knock-out. Install one Hitec HS-35HD servo.
Electronically center the servo and re-orient the control horn at a 45 degree
angle towards the rear of the model as shown iin the detail photo.
This is
critical to ensure the correct differential throw for the main wing.
Incorrect installation of the control horn will result in erratic or
uncontrollable flight!
92. Open the covering over the nylon pushrod housing where it exits the
RIGHT
REAR
of the fuselage. Make a “Z” bend in one end of the 12 in. x 0.020 in.
wire. Insert the straight end of the wire into the tube within the radio
compartment.
93. Electronically center the servo, then orient the control horn so that it is
PERPENDICULAR
to the servo body, as shown in the detail photo. Connect
the “Z” bend in the pushrod to the innermost hole of the control horn. Install
servo to the underside of the central crutch F1.
94. Mount your 4-6g ultra micro receiver (
We used the Spektrum AR6115e
[SPMAR6115E])
to the
TOP
of the fuselage central crutch F1,
FORWARD
of
the servos, with self adhesive hook and loop or double sided tape.
95. Mount a length of self adhesive hook and loop tape to the
BOTTOM
of F1,
FORWARD
of the servo, to receive the battery.
Note: To prevent the hook
and loop from comming loose with repeated use, we suggest wicking thin or
medium CA around the edges of the hook and loop tape where it meets the
plywood part.
96. Follow the Tape Hinge Diagram on the detail sheet to attach the rudder to
the vertical stabilizer.
97. Open the covering over the slot in the
LOWER
part of the rudder to receive
the rudder horn. Mount the rudder horn on the
RIGHT
side of the rudder,
and bond with thin CA.
98. Open the covering over the slot in the
TOP REAR
of the fuselage to receive
the vertical stabilizer. Insert the vertical stabilizer post through the slot, and
into the slot on the
UNDERSIDE
of the fuselage. Bond with thin CA.
