which regulate flow of steam and hot water through
heat exchanger as follows:

1. Completely close steam throttling valve and fully

open building hot water supply throttling valve (see
Figure 7-9).

2. Drain chamber sump by selecting DRAIN function

from Manual Menu and pressing

START

touch

pad.

3. After display screen indicates that sump is empty,

select FILL function from Manual Menu and press

START

touch pad.

4. Check reading on heat exchanger temperature

gauge. Gauge indicates temperature of fill water
after water passes through heat exchanger.

5. Slowly open steam throttling valve until tempera-

ture gauge reads desired temperature.

NOTE: Recommended fill water temperature is
180° to 190°F (82° to 88°C).

6. If gauge does not reach desired temperature after

steam throttling valve is fully open, slowly close
building hot water supply throttling valve until
desired temperature is reached.

7.11 HOW TO REPLACE pH CONTROL-

NOTE: pH Controller must be initialized and calibrated
after replacement. See

Section 7.13, How to Adjust pH

WARNING – ELECTRIC SHOCK AND/OR

unit before servicing. Do not service unit unless all
utilities have been properly locked out. Always
follow local electrical codes and safety-related
work practices.

1. Lock unit electrical disconnect switch in OFF posi-

tion.

2. Open Main Electrical Box cover and locate pH con-

troller at the bottom of the cover.

3. Disconnect all wires on terminals TB1, TB2 and TB3

on controller.

4. Remove screws on each corner of controller and

remove controller.

5. Install new controller and reconnect all wires on

terminals TB1, TB2 and TB3 at their same location.

7.12 HOW TO CALIBRATE CONTROLLER
