Luminex Captioner/Student User Guide

Chapter 1 Setting up your Writer

Turning your writer On and Off

On either side of the Status LCD are three touch sensors. Each touch sensor serves a specific

purpose, or function, on the different menus.
Touch the first touch sensor on the left side of the Luminex Captioner/Student Edition to turn the

Luminex Captioner/Student Edition On and Off. When turning the Luminex Captioner/Student Edition

Off, touch the sensor until you hear a beep and then lift your finger from the touch sensor.

Tripod Setup

Luminex Captioner/Student Edition Tripod

Tripod setup includes attaching the Writer to the tripod, only the EasyLock LMX V2 tripod designed

with three straight legs, tilting mechanism and constructed of high gauge aluminum to provide a

lightweight but strong and stable stand for your Luminex Captioner Student Edition. The EasyLock

LMX V2 tripod fully extends to 27.5 inches. When folded, the tripod is 12.5 inches long.

Attaching the Tripod

The Luminex Captioner/Student Edition uses only the EasyLock Z12 tripod designed with three
straight legs and constructed of high gauge aluminum to provide a lightweight but strong and stable
stand for your Luminex Captioner Student Edition. When folded, the tripod is 12 inches long.
1. Fully extend each leg of the tripod, making sure the braces lock.

2. Set the tripod on the floor.

3. Loosen the thumb-lock knob on the tripod base.

4. Extend the inner tripod tube to a comfortable height. Turn the tripod head so that one of the flat

sides of the tripod head is facing you.
