5.4 BACK STRIPPING Mode
(Application of strip material to pre-bound, pre-stitched material or bindings less than 10
sheets)

NOTE: The numbers on the drawing indicate the step number below.
1. Calibration has been completed.
2. Select operating mode BACK STRIPPING using the OPERATING MODE button.
3. LED BACK STRIPPING lights up.
4. LED INSERT BINDING MATERIAL lights up.
5. LEDs CLOSE CLAMPING JAWS light up.
6. Adjust the proper opening clearance for the first binding process by pressing the START button
or start the binding process by inserting the paper and pressing the START button.
7. Place the binding material upright between the clamping jaws with the spine facing downwards
and align against the right side.
8. Press the START button.
9. Hold on to the paper block until the clamping station has closed.
10. The required strip width is calculated.
11. The required strip width LED lights up (LEDs STRIP WIDTH A – F).
12. Insert the Binding Strip into the feeder with the adhesive side facing
upwards
.
13. The binding cycle is started automatically.
14. LED BINDING COMPLETED lights up, the clamping station opens and goes after removal of the
book into the position of the previous book size plus .059” (15 mm) opening width.
Note
Staples have to be levelled before binding!
