9 Exhaust pipe
The discharge opening of the exhaust pipe must not point in the direc-
tion of travel.
The exhaust pipe discharge opening must be so located that any clog-
ging caused by snow or mud is not to be expected.
Rigid pipes made of unalloyed or alloyed steel with a minimum wall
thickness of 1.0 mm, or flexible tubes of alloyed steel are to be used.
The exhaust pipe is to be secured to the heater, e.g. by means of a
clamp. For further requirements see statutory regulations.
Permissible dimensions of the exhaust pipe:
– Inner diameter:
DBW 160: 38 mm
DBW 230 up to .32 / DBW 300 up to .15: 80 mm
DBW 230 up to .33 / DBW 300 up to .16: 70 mm
DBW 350 70 mm
– Max. permissible pipe length:
5 m without combustion air intake extension
– Total length of air intake line and exhaust pipe max. 5 m
– Max. permissible bending: 270°
NOTE:
The exhaust pipe needs to be insulated if it is routed in close proximity
of temperature-sensitive components!
