Installing an HBA in the Master Node

BlackPearl NAS solution 2U Master Node

Notes:

• Because the BlackPearl NAS solution 2U master node only has a single CPU,

only three of the seven PCI slots are active. Make sure you install the HBA into
one of the indicated slots, which are labeled on the motherboard as slots 1, 2,
and 3.

• Depending on your order configuration, a 10 GigE HBA may occupy slot 3.

• If you have a BlackPearl NAS solution 1.0 chassis, which can be identified by

the presence of four RJ45 ports on the rear panel, see the

Spectra 12-Drive Chassis

for instructions on which motherboard slots to use when

installing an HBA.
